Welcome to Pack 441 !

Welcome New Families!

We're so happy that you're interested in Pack 441—one of the oldest Cub Scout Packs in the San Francisco Bay Area!

We're a multi-age Pack with Specific Dens for kids in each of K-5th grades. And we accept new Cub Scouts on a rolling basis throughout the year (space permitting).

Please let us know if you have any questions by email [email protected] or phone 510-556-8284 and we'll reply as soon as possible (please be patient as we're all volunteers!).

Why Cub Scouts?

Kids have lots of options these days. Our kids do tons of extracurriculars from soccer, baseball & chess to art, gymnastics & robotics!

However, none of these directly provide life skills & character-building experiences. And these are what Pack 441 has excelled in providing to countless Cub Scouts for over 50 years.

We're dedicated to providing experiences that are missing for most kids these days, ranging from Outdoor Physical Activities & Adventures to Community Service & development of Self-Confidence.

Cub Scouts' Life Skills

Questions? We're Here to Answer!

We believe our kids need a well-rounded childhood to become responsible & healthy adults (and that they're not getting it in regular schools).

We are 100% volunteers who dedicate our time & hearts to providing life experiences to our kids. And thereby help them develop a strong character to succeed & flourish as adults.

See the Pack 441 Cub Scout Experience for more detailed information.

Our Pack 441 provides each Cub Scout with a series of "Adventures" for each K-5th Grade, with a carefully planned progression of skills development within each same-grade Den (e.g., Kindergartners are all in the "Lion Den" and will do activities appropriate for their skill & development level).

These broad skills cover many areas, including confidence in public-speaking (through lots of exposure, e.g., acting in skits & singing in meetings), hands-on-learning (through many varied projects, e.g., bottle rockets, wood carving, t-shirt design contest), social skills (through constant teamwork leading to lifelong friendships), and personal growth & achievement (through earning patches/loops & rank advancements).

We believe it's an amazing program that can't be matched by anything else. And that's why we all volunteer & work so hard to continue Pack 441's longstanding contribution to our youth.

We provide all traditional Cub Scout activities, such as Nature hikes, Den & Pack Meetings (with singing, games, skits, and lots of fun!), and events such as the Pinewood Derby, Raingutter Regatta, Bottle Rockets, Kite Day, Scouting for Food (food drive for families in need), Trunk-or-Treat, and Scouting Celebrations like the "Blue & Gold Dinner".

In addition, we continually strive to offer other enriching experiences, including multiple Overnight Camps & Summer Day Camps, as well as many activities through the broader Area Council.

We also do unique events annually, such as the Newark Days Parade and Parade+Campout in a Professional Baseball Stadium.

We're also hoping to return to many events as they reopen after COVID, including overnight sleepovers in the Monterey Bay Aquarium, USS Pampanito submarine, USS Hornet aircraft carrier, Chabot Space & Science Center, and Oakland Zoo.

In future, we hope to try even more new places — Alcatraz? Yosemite? Gold Country? We're excited at the possibilities!

The Cub Scouts meet for a whole Pack Meeting every 3rd Wednesday of the Month.

The monthly evening Den Meeting for each age group is as follows:-

Lions (Kindergarten): 3rd Friday

Tigers (1st Grade) & Bears (3rd Grade): 2nd Friday

Wolves (2nd Grade): 4th Wednesday

Webelos 1 & 2 (4th & 5th Grades): 1st Wednesday

Additional meetings for special events and outdoor hikes will vary depending on event and den/pack availability.
